Our History

Pastor Jack Washington grew up in Moody, AL. He didn't come to know the Lord until later in life. After receiving the Lord as his personal Saviour, he became involved in church as much as possible. Then he felt that the Lord was calling him to become a Pastor.

In March of 2005, Hanks Memorial Baptist church called Jack Washington to be their pastor. Though the church had been a thriving Free Will Baptist Church for many years, most of the original members had either moved or passed away and only a small remnant were left.

Jack accepted the call but made it clear to the congregation that he believed in eternal security of the believer and that if he was to be the pastor, it would need to become an Independent Baptist church. Most of the church members believed the same as Pastor Jack believed and so they agreed and the church voluntarily removed itself from the Free Will Baptist denomination and became an Independent Baptist church.

The church is now growing and many are coming to visit and some are joining.

We invite you to come and see what the Lord is doing at our church.
